Angela Higginbotham Monroe

Angela Higginbotham Monroe is a Manager in the Office of Specialized Services of the Chicago Public Schools. Her responsibilities include grant management, ensuring 2000 early childhood students receive specialized services and appropriate program placement for students with disabilities. Angela has been with the Chicago Public Schools since 1984 and assumed her current responsibilities in 2007.

Angela received her BA in Psychology and BS in Communicative Disorders and Sciences from Marquette University. She received her MS in Communicative Disorders from Southern Illinois University and an MA in Educational Administration from Northeastern Illinois University.

Angela co founded the Greater South Loop Association which serves resident and businesses in the South Loop community. She also volunteers with the Glass Slipper Project which provides prom dresses and accessories to low income Chicago high school students.

Angela and her husband Mell along with their Bullmastiff Sinbad and Chocolate Labrador Mocha are residents of Bronzeville.
